Email content may be edited by the moderator. From: Wholegrain Digital Systems LLC Wholegrain would like to solicit the user community for feedback on features to implement in future versions of DynPEQ. Version 2.0 is currently in the planning phase, and user suggestions would be very timely right now. For instance, the Quartet DynPEQ parameter window contains interactive elements indicating real-time peak level and maximum peak level. The maximum peak level can be reset by clicking on the element. Quartet DynPEQ calculates an interpolated peak level, which estimates the peak of the output signal in its analog form. One prime motivation behind the maximum peak level is to measure between reset clicks and offset the maximum level measured with the output gain, which is pre-limiter, so that the peak limiter will not kick in for the program segment. Would compiling minimum peak level, or average peak level with standard deviation be of use in your workflow? Would RMS levels be useful in additon to peak levels? Bear in mind that these additional metrics would require the addition of a metering release time parameter, at the very least. Should these values be displayed numerically or graphically? Please email your opinions, motivations, and suggestions to this forum. |
